This is a wonderful museum quality. Russian Imperial antique porcelain Ester egg, centered with the gilt Imperial Cypher of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, with original silk ribbon, now faded. In Armand Hammer retailer's box. Good antique condition consistent with age & use. Please, look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Gift Easter egg of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (wife of Nicholas II). Production of the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg of the Russian Empire. Special order for the Imperial Family. Easter egg with the cypher for Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. It measures 2.75 not including the old blue ribbon. These kind of eggs were personally given by Empress Alexandra, during the Easter season usually to official persons accompanied by the wish: Christ is Risen! After the canonization of the Romanov family these eggs considered by the faithful very blessed since they were given by the hands of a Saint of the Orthodox Church.

Used item in good condition. During the 1920s, the Soviet Union has taken many fine items from the Church, Aristocrats, and Imperial Family. Victor was responsible for acquisitions for Hammer Galleries, including the so-called Romanov Treasures and Fabergé eggs.
