Russian Memento Mori ring with Central Skull and Bones and entwined Snakes with Imperial Russian Silver Marks for Moscow and Makers mark A? A superb silver Memento Mori ring from 19th Century pre-revolution Imperial Russia. Featuring a central skull, held in place by bones, with two sinuous snakes coiled around the shank, with the heads coming to rest either side of the skull. In beautifully aged and toned silver, with Russian markings to the shank, this small ring has incredible impact and a distinctly eerie vibe.
The ring feels full of history and mystery, and is beautifully designed, with the snakes having scaled detail to their heads and the tails entwined at the back of the shank. The marks are very attractive, too and add to the overall look of this very cool ring. You can't help but wonder what it has seen and who might have worn it over the years. It feels really comfortable on the finger, with the silver being very smooth and curved to the back. An amazing little survivor from a turbulent time in history.
