The case comes with the original luxury presentation leather box, signed in Russian Alexander, St. Petersburg beneath the Imperial warant eagle crest.
The case is decorated with the personal monogram cypher of Empress Maria Feodorovna MF in Russian beneath the Romanov crown in the center of the case. On the sides of the case are depicted the miniature order of St.
Anna 4th class, the Romanov Crown and the Monomakh's Cap. Empress Maria was the official patron of "Her Majesty the Empress Maria Feodorovna's Own Life Guards Regiment", so she presented the case to one of the officer from that regiment-Captain Nicholay Ivanovich Stanchov for good service. Preserved in excellent to near mint condition! Hallmarked with the Imperial Russian 84 Kokoshnik silver hallmark and with the master's hallmark. Very rare and highly collectible piece of history.
Provenance: The case comes from Stanchov's family estate. His family emigrated to Bulgaria after the revolution c 1917. NOTE:PLEASE OBSERVE CAREFULLY THE PHOTOS!
