Imperial Russian Faberge Egg Pendant 14k Solid Gold Guilloché Eagle with Diamond
Imperial Russian Faberge Egg Pendant 14k Solid Gold 56AP. Fantastic Imperial Russian egg pendant. It's was described only as an Imperial Russian egg pendant. The photo of the inside of the box seemed to indicate it was Faberge but wasn't enough to go on with the faded logo. I got the egg home and was able to examine the hallmarks under a loupe and sure enough it does appear to bear Faberge's cyrillic mark for small objects. I believe they mistook the Faberge mark for a standard Russian hallmark. It's marked for solid 14K gold with the 56AP mark. Total weight 7 grams, 20 x 15 mm.
The other mark is the aforementioned Faberge mark for small items which I've included a screen grab of in the listing photos. The gold has a brilliant blue Guilloché enamel atop it. Applied over the blue is the Russian coat of arms, a beautiful eagle.
The eagle appears to be platinum but could be silver or white gold. It has white enamel applied over this white metal. The cherry on top is a nice sized rose cut Diamond. The pendant is in tremendous condition with no flaws to speak of. The only issue I see at all is a tiny bit of white substance atop the tip of the Eagles right wing.I thought it may be a slip of the enamel brush but the color doesn't appear to match the enamels color. Not sure what this is. It's hardly noticeable at all. I didn't see it until it was under a loupe. I'm sure it could be professionally cleaned if you wish.
Not a big issue at all but I wanted to be fully transparent here. This beautiful piece is in its original presentation box.
The logo on the box is a bit faded. Overall the box is in very good condition and the clasp mechanism works smoothly with the box closing tightly.
