Fabulous Russian Imperial Silver Dish. This dish in the shape of a flat fish was probably made for caviar and carries the mark of Peter Carl (Karl Gustavovich) Fabergé? It is sculpted in extraordinary detail on both sides, with green cabochons, possibly emeralds, as eyes. It has the following hallmarks. K Fabergé' in Cyrillic script?

Julius Alexander Rappoport, originally Isak Abramovich, was a Lithuanian silversmith and Fabergé workmaster, born in Kovno, Lithuania in 1851. In 1883 he opened his first own workshop in St. Petersburg at Ekateriniski Canal before moving to Moscow to become a Fabergé workmaster. Trained in Berlin, he was one of Fabergé's rare craftsmen of Jewish origin. His maker's mark was'I.
