So yes this did sale before, there was no return or issue with box. This Stunning replica of one of the Faberge Imperial Coronation Snuff Boxes, was commissioned and. Created with the approval of Carl Fabergé's only living descendant, his granddaughter Tatiana Fabergé.

The deep gold enameling of the box represents the color of the Imperial Coronation Robes and is what sets the tone of the box. The translucent enameling is done over a sunburst guilloché design overlaid with a chased gold trellis set with diamonds at each intersection. Centered in each trellis segment is the Romanov double headed eagle in black enamel.

Central to the entire design is the crowned Austrian crystal (In place of the diamonds used on the original) monogram of Nicholas II on a white enamel guilloché ground framed by an oval of brilliant crystals. The sides of the box are basket weave enamel guilloché and the interior and underside of the box are black velvet. This is an exquisite example of Fabergé's work. This snuffbox was made in homage to Carl Fabergé.

Some of the eggs are meticulous reproductions of the 50 original eggs made for the Czars and Czarinas of Imperial Russia by preeminent jeweler Peter Carl Faberge between 1885 and 1916. Others are RARE collaborations between Faberge and Limoges in a variety of styles and sizes. All of the pieces are certified Faberge designs, created and produced to the highest standards of the European applied arts. Superior quality materials and the skill of fine craftsmen have recreated the splendor of original Faberge objets d'art.

In 1885, The Tsar Alexander III commissioned Fabergé to design a simple matte white enamel egg for his wife Maria Fedorovna. The Imperial Hen Egg is enameled in opaque white, and polished to give the effect of an eggshell. The shell concealed a removable surprise of matte yellow, gold yolk. Inside the yolk sits a plump golden hen. The Tsarina was so delighted with this elegant Easter gift, that a family tradition was born.

Fabergé was now called upon to design an egg every year, and every each of them contained its own special surprise. At first, the Tsar dictated the design of the egg. He would monitor its progress from start to finish. But eventually, in an extraordinary gesture, he gave Fabergé complete creative freedom - no questions asked.

As the ritual continued, the relationship between the Tsar and Fabergé became more familiar. The eggs were now hand-delivered to the palace by Fabergé himself on each Easter morning. Contact me with any questions or additional photos.
