Russian porcelain soup tureen and cover from the Imperial yacht Tsarevna, Imperial Porcelain Factory, 1897. Of ball form with shallow handles, the plain, glazed porcelain decorated with bands of navy blue and with the name of the yacht in Cyrillic on one side and on the cover, the opposite with the Imperial cypher with a Slavonic letter A surmounted by the Imperial crown.
The Imperial yacht Tsarevna built in England for the Emperor Alexander II but was used primarily by Alexander III and his Empress Maria Feodorovna for short trips along the coast near the capital city and holiday trips to the Grand Duchy of Finland.
