Antique Porcelain Figure Boy Russia Imperial Porcelain Factory 18th Century
For sale is this small figurine that I believe was made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory of Moscow Circa mid 18th Century. The 3 blue line mark appears to have been used prior to the more recognised marks from the reign of Catherine II the Great. The mark was referenced in "A manual of marks on pottery and porcelain" by W H Hooper & W C Phillips, 1894 page 45. The figure perhaps represents the miniature figures copied from German porcelain factories of the time. The figure has an obvious chip to the front of the hat. It is hard to see if or what was in the hands (the areas all seem glazed over). The figure is approximately 11cm tall and heavy for size at about 130g.

No relief hole apparent to base, however, hole to rear of back / midway. Please see all photos for further assessment and appraisal.
