The word ephemera is derived from the sixteenth century Greek word ephmera meaning a printed or hand written paper not meant to be retained for a long period of time. Fine antique signed invitation to the wedding of Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovich (born 1953), daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Kirillovich and Grand Duchess Leonida, to Prince Franz Wilhelm of Prussia (born 1943), grandson of the youngest son of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The invitation is signed by Grand Duchess Leonida inviting Prince David Vachnadze to the wedding in Madrid 22nd September 1976, accompanied by the original envelope and several magazine pages featuring the wedding. Provenance: Prince David Jassevich Vachnadze Prince of Kakheti born in Tbilisi in 1902, son of Prince Jasse Vachnadze and Princess Daria Andronikova.
