Our Lady of Kazan, hand-painted tempera on wood, overlaid wit ha chased gild silver oklad / riza. Circa late 19th century to early 20th century. Silver marked with kokoshnik marking for Moscow and maker's initials. The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is a revered miraculous icon of the Mother of God, which appeared in Kazan in 1579.
