Bibelot is a late nineteenth century word derived from the French word bel'beautiful', meaning a small item of beauty, curiosity or interest. The word ephemera is derived from the sixteenth century Greek word ephmera meaning a printed or hand written paper not meant to be retained for a long period of time. Fine antique Concert Programme from Windsor Castle richly decorated with the British royal arms, the Imperial Russian eagle, Prince Albert Edward of Wales's cypher and the Order of the Garter, featuring musical selections by Glinka (Life for the Tsar), Schubert, Gounod and others, in honour of the wedding of Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna to Prince Alfred son of Queen Victoria, dated 14th May 1874. Provenance - Amelia Louisa Hudson daughter of John R. Hudson who was Footman to the Prince Consort in 1850s up until the Prince's death in 1861.
