Antique Imperial Russian Enamel Cloisonné 84 Silver Blue Magpie Jay Figurine

Antique Russian enamel cloisonné Vermeil silver blue magpie with Turquoise. This statue is of a beautiful black-throated magpie jay with a blue crest and a long graceful tail. Red coral pieces are in his eyes, and his back and tail have tiny turquoise cabochons. Gilted silver vermeil and enamel. He stands on a little wooden pedestal that is inlaid. The wooden pedestal might've had another piece to it at some point that came off long ago. Great condition with wear on the gilding. Under his tail is a silver stamp.

Because of how it is stamped simply "silver, " I'm dating it to the late 1800's. On the right claw, on the middle toe, it is stamped with numbers 8 and a 4 on it, for 84 zolotnik ; 84/96 or 875/1000 parts pure silver or.

875 very tiny and requires a good magnifying glass. There also appear to be initials in Cyrillic letters. 8 1/2 inches long x 3 inches high at the head. Beautiful and extremely detailed work.
