Antique Imperial Russian 84 Sterling Silver Candy Dish by Morozov

A fine and substantial example of Russian Imperial silver: an open sugar bowl / bonbon dish by the distinguished Moscow firm of Pavel A. Morozov, one of the official Suppliers to the Imperial Court of Russia. The piece is crafted in solid 84 zolotnik silver (?

875 purity), with a total weight of approx. The elegant fluted / reeded panels encircling the body create a refined Neoclassical rhythm, typical of late 19th-early 20th century Russian silver. The base and rim bear a full set of hallmarks. The maker's mark "Morozov". The Imperial Russian assay mark 84 zolotnik with city/assayer's stamp.

And a later Soviet 875 re-mark, confirming authenticity and purity. This combination of Imperial and Soviet marks is especially desirable, documenting the object's provenance and survival across two eras of Russian history. The Morozov workshop was celebrated for exceptional craftsmanship and enjoyed the prestigious status of Court Supplier, a distinction reserved for only a handful of the finest Russian silversmiths of the Imperial period.

No major dents or repairs. Attractive, natural patina consistent with age; can be lightly polished if desired. Silver fineness: 84 zolotnik (875/1000). A highly collectible piece of Russian Imperial silver, equally suited for a serious collection or as an impressive decorative object of museum quality.
