Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Tea Caddy Box with Russian Imperial Double Eagle 19thC
Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Tea Caddy Box w/ Russian Imperial Double Eagle 19thC. The interesting part about this tea box is the Russian Imperial double eagle on the top, which shows it was made for export to the Russian market. The lacquer and painting does have some wear, but it's in surprisingly good shape for lacquerware, and it looks much better in person as the gold gilding is easier to see (the color and painting was hard to picture). The box opens nicely, and it is full of old tea leaves... I probably should have put the loose tea leaves back in the center of the box, but at least you can see it's full. This box measures 5.75" inches tall, by 5-5/8" inches in length and width. Great early piece from the Qing Dynasty! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, thanks!
