ORIGINAL c1815'PORTFOLIO OF 24 PORTRAITS OF THE IMPERIAL FAMILY' ENGRAVINGS by J MECOU AFTER H BENNER. This is just a great original piece. I have done a lot of research on this piece and found only a few other examples of this complete portfolio. This is a complete example. All 24 engravings that the portfolio came as.

Each sheet measures 17 x 12 1/2 inches. The engravings are in outstanding crisp and clean condition. Each sheet has been cleaned and de acidified.

There are still some minor water staining but most of them are pretty crisp and clean. The edge tears have mostly been repaired with some of the minor chips still showing at the bottom and top edges.

On the bottom of each sheet is a pencil description that was done long ago by one of the previous owners. I was going to have that cleaned but thought it was a good relevant piece of the history.

Really just a great group of all 24 engravings. This comes with the original portfolio (very few of the examples I have found actually have this). It is written in Russian on one side and French on the other. Shows some obvious damage and loose inside cover sheet but it still has all 6 ties for closing the portfolio.

Truly just an incredible piece of Russian history. Do your own research on this great piece. CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS GREAT PIECE.
