In 18th - 19th centuries, bronze articles became a favorite interior decoration in Russia. Unusually harmonious design in the works of Russian masters combined with a jewelry quality workmanship. The center of production of Russian bronze in this period was St.

Petersburg, whose factories carried out the bulk of orders, including for the Imperial family. Elegant and stylish Russian Inkwell, superb fine detail work. It will be an excellent decoration for your cabinet.

Creation period: early 19th century. Creator: Royal workshop, Saint Petersburg. Markings: Hallmark on bottom of sand tank.

Technique: Mercury gold plated bronze, Brass, Glass, Silver plated cup is later replacement of (probably broken) glass. Size incentimeters (metric): 27 x 16 x 12 cm. Measurements ininches (roughly): 10,6 x 6,3 x 4,7 in.
